About the Book
Awesome birds of Costa Rica is a book for bird watchers, lovers and photographers. The book holds a collection of a variety of birds including Toucans, Macaws, Hummingbirds, Parrots, Tanager, Motmots, and Trogon that all call Costa Rica home. Costa Rica also contains a wide swath of unique habitats such as Arenal Lake, Irazú Volcano, Cerro Chirripo Mountain and different types of forest. The book, through a Nikon Camera Z9 and Z lens 100-400mm, explores the birds that live in the unique environments. Each photo not only identifies the birds but also provides the location of each photo taken and the camera settings used in the field.

About the Author
Ashok Chatra is a photographer who discovered his passion for photography at young age. His favorite subjects are birds, wildlife animals, and nature. He was born in India and spent several years of his early life there. After earning his bachelor degree from SJCE Mysore, he migrated to the United States of America. He pursued a Master’s program in Civil Engineering from University of Maryland at College Park and later on an MBA from East Tennessee State University.
Ashok has drawn inspiration from numerous sources, like nature, the outdoor, and landscapes. He has a passion for traveling, having visited various beautiful locations around the world at different times and seasons to capture the marvels of nature through photography. He values his Nikon gear and uses both DSLR and mirrorless cameras. Additionally, he enjoys printing photos and creating lay-flat bindings for his collections, exhibitions and personal enjoyments. His dream and goal are to share the marvels of nature through photographic art with the world.
I am a bird and wild life photographer based in East Tennessee, USA. I am a self-taught photographer. Initial I invested in Nikon DSLR camera in late 2006 and have gradually upgraded to Mirror less gear. I love my Nikon Gear. My equipment consists of Nikon Z9 and Z8 camera With Nikon Z lenses 600mm F4, and 100-400 mm. I have spent countless hours learning how to photograph bird, how to process digital images. Despite this, there is lot to learn more. Photographing humming bird inspire me. Most of my images are of wild and free flying birds. I have learned every steps involved from the field work to publishing book and conducting the exhibition in and around East Tennessee.
